Oh no, did I miss something? You're stopping?

I am very sorry to see you go. I rarely comment, but I've always looked forward to your articles. Thank you very much for your excellent, excellent work. You will also be missed

I hate to say that I am.

Basically, the growing war against science has made Curious Adventure increasingly time-consuming and difficult to write and research, because reliable, factual scientific information is harder to access.

And, while I wish money weren’t a factor, it’s an unfortunate reality nonetheless. The rising cost of living and the low number of paid subscribers mean I have to find a different income source, as I can no longer dedicate the time required to research my letters and still survive. Though I know money is tight for many people and completely understand the challenge our subscription-based economy presents.

Please know that if there were another way I could keep it going, I would in a heartbeat.

Thank you for subscribing and reading my work over the years. No worries about not commenting, just knowing you enjoyed my letters means the world to me. I appreciate you and will miss you.

I will miss your articles and your research, I have learned a lot and consider you a light in a dark room and the world needs light at this time.

Carry on with your curiosity even if you just put light in your own mind. It will keep you sane in a mad world.

I will miss writing to you, but am so glad to hear you found value in the letters I could write. Fiction is in my new plans for the future. Our species is neurologically wired for stories, and I hope to weave everything I’ve learned, and continue to learn despite closing the newsletter, into novels and short stories to be enjoyed.

Thank you for all of your kindness and support over the years, I enjoyed our chats in the comments and will miss you dearly. I so appreciate you Liz.

Dear Katrina - so grateful for your courage and wisdom. Courage to fight through other’s opinions. Wisdom in selecting amazing topics to share. Your photo shows beauty, intelligence, and kindness.

I hope we hear your voice again. Please add me to whatever lists you keep!

Oh, Alan, your words warm my heart on this cold January day. I will dearly miss writing these articles and chatting with you in the comments. While I must shift and reorganize my life a bit, I will continue writing, though I plan to focus on fiction instead.

Our species is neurologically wired for stories, and I hope to weave everything I’ve learned and continue to learn (despite closing the newsletter) into novels (I've completed one novel and am working on another) and short stories to be enjoyed, in addition to getting a job-job to pay the bills.

Perhaps in the future I can start a new fictional newsletter. Who knows, but one thing's for sure: It will be a curious adventure.

Thank you for all of your support and kindness over the years. You truly are a gem of a human, and I can't possibly express how much I appreciate you. Thank you.

Thank you for your contributions over the years. I think I remember that photo from some of your early work on Medium! I will always remember you for leading me to realize there is a name for something that defines my reality every day. That article you did on aphantasia? Digging deeper into that led me to read about hyperphantasia. As I read about that I literally shouted "Yes! That's me!" So there's a name for this thing that pulls me into alternate realities and spins stories like a hurricane. So many thanks, you will be in my thoughts from time to time.

I'm so glad!! I felt the same way about aphantasia! Funny that we're the opposite in that sense. It's amazing how much we're learning that shows there's nothing "wrong" with us. And knowing that makes it much easier to understand how to work with our minds rather than fight them.

I will think of you, too. It makes me so sad knowing we won't be having these chats in the comments. It still feels a little surreal that it's ending, but I'm also thankful that Medium brought us together and gave us this time. Hopefully, it's just a bye for now and not forever.

Dang, I really looked forward to having these. You've definitely done an amazing job creating amazing content. I can't think of anybody else out there that has quite the same sense for finding interesting topics as you.

You have a gift for expressing your curiosity--and the fruits of that curiosity. I do so greatly enjoy your work.
